Music Monday 1

Welcome to the first edition of Music Monday. Some weeks I might explain what I get from songs, some I might let you enjoy it and see what you pick from it. This week the song is a little more difficult to nail down a meaning. But of course that odd ball bit it what makes me love it.

The song is Jason Mraz's "The Dynamo of Volition."

"What the heck does that mean Jeff?" Well lets look at the definition of each part.

Dynamo:
  1. A machine for converting mechanical energy into electrical energy; a generator.
  2. An extremely energetic person.

Volition:
The faculty or power of using one's will

So based on this, "The Dynamo of Volition" would be, to me, an extremely energetic person using the power of their own will. Still confused? Yea me too, but the song is unique as it jumps from subject to subject as an energetic person would, and they are using their own will to speak about each subject in a creative way. Either way, the song is fun, upbeat, and really catchy.

My favorite bit is the chorus: "Good job, get 'em up way high, gimme, gimme that high five
Good time, get 'em way down low, gimme, gimme that low dough
Good god, bring 'em back again and gimme, gimme that high ten
You're the best definition of good intention."

Well enough chatting. Enjoy the song. Lyrics are posted below, although their is some arguing over what the accurate ones are.

LYRICS:
I got the dynamo of volition, the po-pole position
Automatic transmission with lo-ow emissions
I'm a brand-new edition to the old edition
With the love unconditional.

And I'm a drama abolitionist
Damn no opposition to my proposition
Half of a man, half magician, half a politician
Holding the mic like ammunition
And my vision is as simple as light

Ain't no reason we should be in a fight
No demolition, get to vote, get to say what you like
Procreation, compositions already written by themselves
"Heck" is for the people not believin' in 'Gosh'.

Good job, get 'em up way high, gimme, gimme that high five
Good time, get 'em way down low, gimme, gimme that low dough
Good god, bring 'em back again and gimme, gimme that high ten
You're the best definition of good intention.

I do not answer the call if I do not know who is calling
I guess the whole point of it all is that we never know really
I'm tryin' to keep with the Jones', while waiting for Guns and the Roses
To finish what we all suppose is gonna be the shit well sue me.

Oh fists knocked, bumpin' in wristlock, twistin' up a Rizla
Kid Icarus on the transistor, Nintendo been givin' me the blister
I bend over take it in the kisser.
My best friends are hittin' on my sister
Try to tell 'em that they still a wisher
Cause she already got herself a mister
And, besides, that's gross to wanna dis her
A-di-di-di-di-di-didn't I say, didn't I say.

Good job, get 'em up way high, gimme, gimme that high five
Good time, get 'em way down low, gimme, gimme that low dough
Good god, bring 'em back again and gimme, gimme that high ten
You're the best definition of good versus evil.

I do not keep up with statistics I do not sleep without a mistress
I do not eat unless it's fixed with some kind of sweet, like a licorice
My home is deep inside the mystics I'm known to keep diggin' on existence
I'm holdin' in the heat like a fish stick My phone it beeps because I missed it.

I do not answer the call if I do not know who is calling
I'm making no sense of it all, say can I get a witness
I'm only a boy in a story, just a hallucinatory
Trippin' on nothing there is, living in the wilderness.

With a tiger spot on my back, living life of a cat
I just wanna relax here and write another love tune
Driving off on your blind man's bike You can say just what you like
Ahh... Nothing can stop you.

Good job, get 'em up way high, gimme, gimme that high five
Good time, get 'em way down low, gimme, gimme that low dough
Good god, bring 'em back again and gimme, gimme that high ten
You're the best, You're the best, You're the best, You're the best,
You're the best, You're the best, You're the best.

Good job, get 'em up way high, gimme, gimme that high five
Good time, get 'em way down low, gimme, gimme that low dough
Good god, bring 'em back again and gimme, gimme that high ten
You're the best definition of good intention
You're the best definition of good intention
You're the best definition of good intention
You're the best around!

Freedom Friday 1

Welcome to this week's edition of Freedom Friday. This is where I'll pick any topic, video, current events, or really anything in my life to chat about. Some of these you will find very interesting, some you may start reading then close it out. It's all fine by me. That's the beauty of having the FREEDOM on FREEDOM Friday.

This weeks I'm posting a video (yet another from Ebaumsworld) that I saw the other day. The video is 60, 1 seconds of beauty. Basically it is taking things that happen in our everyday world, and recording ONE SECOND of it. Then they were compiled into this gorgeous video. The first time I saw it, it really made me realize how beautiful and amazing out world is. The clips range anywhere from goosebumps rising on someones neck to a light bulb turning on.

Sounds kinda dumb right? But it's really not. The music fits perfect, how everything is captured is amazing. It really made me open my eyes to our world, and hopefully it'll do so for you as well.

As always, comments are welcome, and please share my blog if you enjoy it! Enjoy the video!

Wacky Wednesday 1

Well thanks for sticking with me over the short stint I wasn't posting. Was trying to figure out which way I wanted to take my blog and I think I figured it out!

I'm going to have 3 main days that I post on. These days will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Each of these days will have a theme.

Mondays are Music Monday. I give credit to my dear friend Kirsten, who's blog can be found HERE, for the inspiration to this. She picks and artist, talks a little about them, and then puts some songs up. I'm going to narrow it down and pick a specific song. Then talk about the song, and how it relates to me and what not.

Wednesdays, as you can see, are Wacky Wednesday. I'll find something wacky, funny, or goofy and posted it here. I'll more than likely talk a little about it, maybe a story that was related, but something.

Friday is Freedom Friday. Could be anything. My opinions on recent events, cool videos I've seen, movie reviews, or who knows what else. Stay tuned for this one!

Now onto todays post: Wacky Wednesday!

This video is presented to you from Ebaumsworld. A site full of Trolls that say everything on there is dumb, but yet they keep going back to watch stuff. I like the site for the videos and Galleries. Some pretty neat stuff can turn up there. This one is of a prank some workers at a sling shot ride pulled on a guy. They kept talking to each other saying it wasn't working, and to try it without launching it. Then they told the guy the straps on the harness were messed up and they would refund his money. Shortly thereafter...well....watch the video and see. I got a kick out of it.

I used to do things like this all the time when I worked on a rollercoaster. I'd have the ride operator lift up a set of harnesses on a group of girls or something after latching them down. Then I'd run over put them back down and act like I was double checking them. Here comes the kicker, the following line was heard with dread to many people, "Sometimes these things just come up. Just hold on tight and you should be fine." Afterwards I gave them a smile and gave the "all clear" sign to launch the ride. Oh the screams that would be heard heading out to the hill!

Well thanks for tuning it, and stick around for Freedom Friday!

On this chilly day

I read a really good article today, and had a video along with it that really tied it all together. A lot of my post today is going to be copy-pasting from this article. Gonna go ahead and cite the article here: Wall St. isn't Winning - It's Cheating

Matt Taibbi starts out by talking about how he was having a conversation with a man and the occupy wall street movement came up. Here's the exchange:

"I hear Occupy Wall Street has a CFO" he said. "I think that's funny."
"Okay, I'll bite," I said. "Why is that funny?"
"Well, I heard they're trying to decide what bank to put their money in," he said, munching on hors d'oeuvres. "It's just kind of ironic."
Oh, Christ, I thought. He’s saying the protesters are hypocrites because they’re using banks. I sighed.
"Listen," I said, "where else are you going to put three hundred thousand dollars? A shopping bag?"
"Well," he said, "it's just, their protests are all about... You know..."
"Dude," I said. "These people aren't protesting money. They're not protesting banking. They're protesting corruption on Wall Street."
"Whatever," he said, shrugging.

Typical... a guy is trying to cut out the credibility of a movement that needs to be happening by stating they are trying to put 300,000 bucks in a bank....really man? Come on now. You walk down wall street with that much money in your pocket and see what happens to you. And then when that point is brought up, its dismissed with an in-arguable "whatever". He knows his point is invalid, and ignorant, but he can't admit that at this point. Oh no. Heaven forbid someone not know what they are talking about and admit a mistake.

The next point he brings up is that the protesters are just envious of the rich...well no shit. They work 2-3 times as hard as the rich, but the rich get 2-3 times more money. CEO's can run a company into the ground and then "get federal money at 0% to loan out to us at 5-10%" Something is majorly wrong there. If that was me, the gov't would own everything I have, plus I'd more than likely be either sitting under an overpass or in jail (this is not a stab at the homeless, please don't take it that way).

The whole article can almost be summoned up by one paragraph: "And we hate the rich? Come on. Success is the national religion, and almost everyone is a believer. Americans love winners. But that's just the problem. These guys on Wall Street are not winning – they're cheating. And as much as we love the self-made success story, we hate the cheater that much more."

And I'm done now...I'm getting worked up about this when there is no need to. Posting the video of his interview so you can see what I'm talking about:

Another day...

Where to begin this posting of never ending randomness? The latest chunk of my life has been an interesting one. Some ups, a bit of downs, overall....not really too much going on. It's kind of depressing. I never figured being AVERAGE would be depressing. I know what some of you are thinking, "Well you should strive to be above average." I'm not talking about me being average, I'm talking about nothing major going on in my life. Nothing super amazing has happened that has me crazy giddy (although things may be in the works there), but nothing really bad has happened that I've learned a life lesson or any of that fun stuff about.

So lets start with the band stuff. Socastee (the high school band that I teach colorguard at) made state finals for the 2nd time in the last 3 years I've been there. Before the first year they made in while I've been there, it had been about 15 years since they had made it last. So this consistency is a nice change of pace for everyone involved in the organization. At the state contest, there was a bit of a train wreck during our show, but we still managed to place 14th (out of 17). Next saturday is our last competition of the season. Then I have a few major decisions to make, more on that when I make them.

Friends have been fairly busy, but that is to be expected with school. I am just as busy with mine. It's kicking my butt, but I'm doing my best to keep my grades up. Relationships are just bleh...I've decided I'm done trying to find the perfect girl for me. She'll come around one day, I'll just be waiting for when the time is right. Its a lot easier than fighting for girls that don't care, or don't realize what they had (might sound conceded, but its what I've heard from others).

There are a few exciting things in the works for the future. Once more gets established with those, then they might appear here, but I don't want this to just be a blog about my life, so we'll see. I think I'd rather post my opinions on matters that are going on around the world and just different problems people have. Honestly I never really know what I'm planning to post about, so most of these are straight from my mind on the spot!

One other thing...my appearance. I'm thinking of making a few changes, but not sure yet. One, I've been growing my beard out, and finally got it to where I'm fully trimming it up and keeping it neat. Don't know if I should keep it yet or not. The other is growing my hair out. I've been debating this one for a while and can never decide, so I cut it until I can figure it out. Leave your comments with your thoughts on my beard and growing my hair out!

Until next time!

Uplifting a bit

That's just a little chill music to kinda set the mood for this blog. I'm not going to be bitching or ranting about anything. This is just a little bit to maybe open someones eyes to what is around them.

I recently saw a video of a woman, I believe she was a little older than me, that had an implant put in that allowed her to hear for the very first time. Upon watching it, when she got to the end and started crying, she said "I don't like that sound" the Doctor with her said, "But that's you. That's your tears." The lady looked up to him wide eyed like a child at christmas time. She then hugged the doctor and began crying more. Laughter slowly mixed in with the tears that seemed to be changing to tears of joy.

This video made me realize how well most of us have it. Most of us are listening to music, or the tv, or someone talking right now. You might even be listening to the music I posted above. Imagine if you could not. How much do you take for granted in your life. That woman had been given the single greatest joy of her life. Something she might have thought she would never have and never get to experience. Yet it is something you, me, and many other people don't even notice.

Always take the time appreciate what you have. Yes your life might be hard. I know mine is. But after watching that, I saw things a new way. When you stop reading this and go about your life, keep that woman in mind. Things can always be worse, and things WILL get better. Tell those that mean the most to you that you love them. Tell your friends you appreciate them. And most importantly, do not take yourself for granted. You are who you are, so be the best YOU that YOU can be. No one else can be you.

I also want to take this time to say that I had one of the hardest things I've had to do in a while. It may not have seemed that way at the time. Lets start with this. One of my best friends is moving to Seattle in a week today. I was down seeing him this weekend with my other best friend. The three of us are like brothers. When I started to leave, and was saying my goodbyes, nothing felt different, but when I sat down in my car I started to think about it. I really don't know when I'll see him again. I wish him the best, but I hate to see him go. Just the thought, that that might have been the last time all 3 of us were able to hang out pained me. I know we will see each other again, but on the off chance we don't was what I was, and am, worried about. How many times did I enjoy, but take for granted the times we hung out together. I thought nothing of it. And now...who knows when we will. But I do wish him the best, and will always be his brother!

Ok...think that's about it for now. As always, comments are welcomed and spreading my blog to others is appreciated!

Occupy Wall Street

Please watch the video above before reading the rest of this. This is from the Occupy Wall Street movement. A protest which is going on that I believe needs to go on and needs much much more support. Its very core is protesting corporate greed. How it isn't fair for corporations and their CEO's to be making millions upon millions of dollars but constantly rising prices and cutting jobs. I'm not going to get into details who's fault it is our economy is in the shit hole it is now, because it is more than one person or groups fault, but a big finger needs to be pointed at these people for killing the country as much as they have because of their own personal greed.

Now, what's even more ridiculous is the fact that they edited this video (this was the part that was cut and never made the air) to show their side of the protest, and not the man being interviewed's side. Of course fox news isn't going to put that on the air, he completely destroyed their name. They would be dumb to use it, but they should just of not used ANY of the interview instead of misrepresenting his view.

What is the point of this picture you may be asking yourself. Well this is someones attempt to prove the hypocritical nature of the occupy wall street movement. Stating that they are all talk and not doing anything to actually change it. By using all these thing by corporations and then protesting against the same corporations is just stupid and hypocritical. What they failed to realize is that this only strengthens their point by showing that WE the CONSUMERS should be the ones in charge. That without US the CORPORATIONS are nothing. Yes we only have ourselves to blame for all this. We have ourselves to blame because we let it get this bad before we decided to take action!

I believe this will be all for today. I could continue on into gov't corruption, and many many other things, but I'll save those for later. Not to mention I don't want this blog to be a precedent that all of mine are going to be some random internet user merely complaining about the country he lives in. Some blogs will be like this, and others will be inspiring, while others yet still are goofy! Just stay tuned to see what decides to come out of my mind!

First of Many

Well well well. So you found your way here. I'm sorry. But if you are here then you must at least be remotely interested in what goes on with my life and inside my head. No I'm not sure what I'm going to post here. I'm not even sure where this first blog is going to go, but I have a feeling it'll be more of an introduction than anything else.

So lets start with the basics shall we? I hate talking about myself in list form like this so I'll just do basics and let you readers figure the rest out about me:

Name: Jeff (Please call me Pyro however)
Eyes: Hazel Blue (considered my best feature)
Hair: Brown
Height: Average

So there you go. I recently had a birthday and celebrated 24 years of life on this planet. Many things have been going on lately but I don't want to try to sum it all up in one blog, or make this so long I bore you as you very well may already be.

Alright lets get to what I'm going to consider the closing point of this blog. Every blog I'll try to include a video or some lyrics or something fun to help entertain you readers. Today it's going to be a video of a puppet dog. This is an old school puppet with strings and all. This guy is good with it and entertains children and adults alike. Hope you all enjoy, and thanks for reading!
